The Marist ministry at Pā Maria is a team ministry. The team comprises Frs Brian Cummings and Kevin Head.
Fr Brian Cummings SM
Fr Brian Cummings
Brian is the Director of Pā Maria.
He completed the year-long Staff Internship Program in Loyola House, Guelph, Canada in 2002-2003 and the Ignatian Immersion Program in Manresa, Spain in 2014.
As well as raining in Canada, Brian has given retreats in New Zealand, Australia and the USA.
He is available as a spiritual director and retreat preacher and supervisor of spiritual directors and is also a member of the Arrupe NZ Team.
Before his involvement in spirituality ministry, Brian was Rector of St Bede’s College, Rector of Marist Seminary (Auckland) and NZ Provincial of the Society of Mary.
Fr Kevin Head SM
Fr Kevin Head
Kevin has been a member of the Pa Maria Marist spirituality ministry since 2011 and has given retreats in Tonga, Fiji and Aotearoa New Zealand.
He is available as a spiritual director and retreat preacher and supervisor.
In his more than 40 years as a priest he has taught in secondary schools in New Zealand and in Samoa, and has worked in Māori ministry and in parishes in New Zealand and in the Cook Islands, and worked for Challenge 2000.
As well as working at Pa Maria, Kevin is chaplain for the Apostleship of the Sea in Wellington, edits the Marist Messenger and manages the features and opinions section at CathNews NZ.
